  DULCE MARÍA LOYNAZ DEL CASTILLO  (1903-1997)

Being an exceptional poetess, she was awarded the Miguel de Cervantes y Saavedra Prize (1992), in Spain and the National Literature Prize, in Cuba. She was daughter of the General of the Liberation Army Enrique Loynaz del Castillo and sister of the poet Enrique Loynaz Muñoz. She was elected member of the National Academy of Arts and Letters in 1956, of the Cuban Academy of the Language in 1959, and of the Royal Spanish Academy of Language in 1969.
