Born in New York, she settled in Havana since she was a child. She became a figure of international renown for her continuous work in searching, maintaining, and developing culinary art. She has taken courses on Dietetics and Nutrition at the University of London, as well as postgraduate courses sponsored by FAO-OMS-UNICEF about science of the aliments and applied nutrition, in Nigeria. Her works are known in all the Americas. She collaborated with several periodicals and kept for more than 40 years the television program “Cocina al minuto” (cooking in a minute). She was awarded several prizes and received various decorations.
