Pipián is considered soul of the first cyclist rounds to Cuba in Madruga, La Habana. In 1964, he was crowned as champion and repeated in the third, fifth and sixth editions. At the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Juan, 1966 he achieved the third position in team; four years later in Panama was the second in team and third in individual category. At the XI edition, in Panama also, he achieved the second position in team and third in individual. At the VI Panamerican Games, in Cali, 1971, he won a bronze medal in individual persecution and when he was dreaming to attend the JJ.OO. Munich, a traffic accident put an end to his hopes. Eight years later, he lost his life in another accident.
